Katie fell in love with Irish dance at the age of 4 when she began her dancing career with Rince Na Tiarna. As a champion dancer, she has competed at regional, national and world competitions. Her favorite aspect of Irish dance is team dancing and she enjoys teaching them as well. She has many team titles from regional, national and world championships, but is most proud of her 2nd place All Ireland ceili award. While in college, Katie studied abroad at the University of Limerick in Ireland and learned a great deal about Irish dance and the Irish culture through her coursework. Katie became an assistant teacher under Mary Kay Heneghan at 15 years old and it was then that she truly discovered her love of teaching dance. In 2006, Katie became certified as a TCRG with An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha. Katie is also a Buffalo Public School teacher. She thanks her mom and dad for fostering her love of Irish dance and traveling the world with her.
