I started dancing when I was 5 years old in Erie, PA under Mary Kay Heneghan’s direction. I reached the highest level of competition, Championships, when I was under 9. I have competed in teams and in solos regionally, nationally and internationally. I consistently placed in the top 10 at our regional qualifier, many times in the top 3. I have been ranked top 15 on the National level many times and top 20 at All Irelands. At the All Irelands, which was held in Ennis, County Clare Ireland, I was awarded not only an overall recall, but two individual solo recalls. I have qualified for Worlds many times but did not have the opportunity to dance solos at the World Championship.
Teams are one of my favorite memories. I have been on many teams (choreography, ceili and four hands) that have won at the Oireachtas, Nationals and All- Irelands. I was also on a Choreography team in 2006 that took 3rd place at the World Championships in Belfast, Ireland.
Not only have I competed around the world , I have also had the opportunity to perform in Washington D.C. for the Library of Congress.
I decided to get my teaching certificate, aka TCRG, to continue to teach Irish dance with Rince Na Tiarna. I took my TCRG in 2013 when I was 24 years old.
